Preparing for baby’s arrival

Thank you for your interest in the Newborn Checklist.

Before downloading the checklist, here are a couple of points that I would like to highlight:

  • The checklist is divided into two sections: One part dedicated for the baby and the other part dedicated for the new mom. In each section, I’ve marked where the items that you need to purchase can be used, whether at home, at the maternity ward of the hospital or for outings.
  • This checklist is a starting point to help new moms get familiar with the different items that they need to purchase to get ready for their baby’s arrival. You definitely don’t need to purchase every item on this list, as each mom has a personal preference in how she wants to organize her new life with the baby.
  • With regards to the items related to the hospital, you might want to contact your local maternity ward to find out exactly what they provide you with, as this can vary from one country to another. While in some countries, parents need to arrange every thing their newborn needs, in others hospitals are more generous in providing parents with all the necessary items to use during their stay at their maternity ward AND for the next few days following their departure.
  • Some hospitals offer parents a short photo-session of their newborns at no extra cost (of course, parents will have to pay for the pictures they select). If your hospital does the same, you’re lucky! And consider having a nice outfit ready for this occasion.

I think I’ve said it all. I hope you’ll benefit from this checklist as much as I did.
