We initially planned to visit Singapore for a long weekend, but with my pregnancy we found it was more suitable to stay in Thailand and explore its beautiful natural areas. For this purpose, we chose a more secluded, relaxed destination where we could enjoy nature and find respite from the busy city.
Located two hours north of Bangkok, Atta Lakeside Resort Suite was a perfect choice for us, as it provided perfect accommodation for a small family. Atta is part of the Kirimaya Golf Resort Spa, which is surrounded by beautiful, natural features. The splendour of this resort is its three hotels. You can move around from one hotel to another by use of their golf carts. This was so convenient, because it gave us a wider option of restaurants to dine in, and access to the spa (and the golf course) at Kirimaya Resort.
Atta has an infinity pool (with a kids’ corner) that is located just a few metres away from the lake, and next to their all-day-dining restaurant.
The beauty of this hotel is that all its rooms are suites, which means a bedroom and a small living room with a kitchenette. This makes it great for families. My favourite part was the large couch in the living room, which can fit two young kids, which means that no extra bed (and cost) is required for a family of four. Of course, the kitchenette comes in handy with young kids, as it makes it possible to prepare simple meals and store them in the fridge (no oven available though).
All suites have a view of the lake, as you can see in the pictures below.
The resort offers several dining options in its three hotels. Fortunately, we had time to experience three outlets:
- The all-day-dining for breakfast at Atta Lakeside Resort Suite
- Myth, an open air restaurant which offers Italian cuisine at Muthi Maya. I did not take any pictures of this restaurant, but you can have a look at their site by clicking here.
- Tani Restaurant, which offers Japanese cuisine, with an a la carte menu and Teppanyaki tables (pictures below)

My perception of the hotel
The hotel is great for someone who needs to spend some quiet time away from the city. Golf lovers, honeymooners and couples would love it. While the resort offers great accommodation for families, there weren’t many activities centred around children. Resources such as a kids club or a small playground were not to be found. If you happen to be visiting the hotel with young kids, make sure to keep them busy with some activities to do around the hotel. We took our daughter twice to the ChokChai farm, located about 30 minutes away from the hotel.
